The Beginning History
After reading Unbroken, we know a little bit about the project that Louie started. Unfortunately, Laura Hillenbrand doesn't go into much detail about what the camp did, or even the events that got it started.
The Journey began in 1952. Lectures never helped behavior, and Louie knew that something would have to change these kids if they were going to have better lives. There were week long trips that pushed boys to survive and have fun. He said that he was willing to help any kid that was troubled.
Now
Many years ago, Victory Boys camp started to derail. They lost participants, and therefore closed. However, in 2014, Louis's grandson Clay has relaunched the camp, making it better than it was before, even though with his grandfather gone it would never be the same. However, it's no longer just by itself.
Clay has started to lease and buy land so that a facility can be built in which a staff can maintain it throughout the year.
The camp will start again as a foothold where everyone will learn the skills of forgiveness, challenge, survival, hope, preparedness, positivity, contentment, and humility.

As Louie said in the video, his lessons can be learned, and his generation was only the "hardy" generation. His camp will continue to teach the kids who go there those very lessons that he learned through his trials and hurt.
